Multiple people were injured and one reported dead, after shots were fired at Irving Plaza in New York Wednesday night. Fans gathered for a concert which was to feature T.I. and special guests Dave East, PnB Rock, Troy Ave, Uncle Murda, Anderson Paak and more.
Details are limited but according to witnesses, 3 shots rang out after members of separate entourages got into an altercation backstage, which spilled into the main area. According to reports, at least three people were injured, one of which was rapper Troy Ave who was grazed in the leg by a bullet. A fourth victim, Edgar “Banga” McPhatter, a member of Troy Ave’s crew, was reportedly shot in the chest. He later succumbed to his injuries.
There have not been any arrests made yet. The show was cancelled following police evacuating the building. The video footage below shows T.I. and others backstage, everything seemingly peaceful. It then cuts to the melee that occurred after the initial shots were fired. At one point you hear another shot ring out and see security escorting a woman who had been shot.
T.I. was in the building, but had not hit the stage prior to the shooting.
