The young boy who went viral for his love of corn has now been named the “Corn-bassador” of South Dakota.
From “Corn Kid” to “Corn-bassador,” Tariq is moving on up in the corn world. This week, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Norm declared Sept. 3, 2022 as “Official Corn-bassador Tariq Day,” in honor of Tariq’s admiration for the crop.
Tariq joined the state this past weekend at South Dakota’s Corn Palace. The kid and his family documented his trip in a TikTok video. “I mean look at this thing,” Tariq in a video while holding up his ear of buttered corn. “I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing!”
The original corn video has garnered millions of views, which have sparked songs, musical remixes and it has been used in more than 705,000 TikTok videos.
