The woman who stabbed Joe Jackson’s granddaughter has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars.
If you recall, Yasmine Jackson was viciously stabbed in 2020 in Las Vegas seven times by Angela Bonnell in an apparent hate crime. Bonnell chased Jackson down near her apartment complex and began attacking her, calling her an “n—-r” while doing so. Jackson shared graphic photos of her stab wounds and was unable to move her neck for a time. Bonell originally told police she was just out for a walk, but witnesses stated that she attacked Jackson, and one man even had to pull her off the woman, who was found seriously injured. Bonnell was charged with attempted murder and a hate crime. Ironically, she and Jackson were neighbors, and Bonnell had previously made noise complaints about Jackson, though it doesn’t appear that they had any serious issues.
On Monday, Jackson shared that Bonnell was sentenced to 40 years in prison and would have to serve a minimum of 16 years.
“She got the max!!!!” Jackson wrote on Instagram.
Jackson is the daughter of Joh’Vonnie Jackson, the lovechild of Joe Jackson and Cheryl Terrell. Now a nurse, Jackson has shared several photos of her and her grandfather, who passed away in 2018 from pancreatic cancer. Though it appears both she and her mother had a healthy relationship with the Jackson family patriarch, their relationship with Michael, Janet, and the rest of the famous Jackson siblings remains unknown.
