Trae Tha Truth continues to live up to his name when it comes to helping and supporting the community.
Following the destruction of Hurricane Ian, Trae and his Relief Gang nonprofit organization traveled to the state to lend a helping hand.
On Friday, the team packed up chainsaws, high water trucks, tarps, and are partnering with restaurants to provide food to the victims of the disaster.
“At the end of the day, when people are in need, you don’t have time to get mentally prepared,” Trae explained. “If I get mentally prepared and wait, that could cost somebody their life being stranded in the house. Sometimes, you just have to move to action, and everything else … God will take care of it.”
Trae created the nonprofit with the help of Houston’s DJ Mr. Rogers in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey caused extreme damage to the city of Houston. According to its website, the Relief Gang, “provides support to individuals in natural disasters, fires, floods, and other unexpected detriments.”
Hurricane Ian hit the state of Florida on last Wednesday as a category four storm. By Thursday morning, more than 2.5 million residents were left without power, homes, and resources.
