According to a new survey, 22% of Americans would rather spend a night in jail than speak with a customer service representative.

Working with the public isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always easy explaining to a customer service rep your unique issue or challenge. The relationship between the customer and the representative has gotten so bad that a new survey suggests people would prefer getting locked up or shaving their heads than contacting a customer service rep, KKTV reports.

The poll was taken by OnePoll on behalf of Twilio Flex, and it included 2,000 Americans. They all were asked what they rather do than reach out to customer service. The results showed that 30% of people would rather do their taxes, 28% would rather visit the dentist, 25% would rather go to the DMV, 24% would rather shave their head and 22% would rather spend a night in jail.

The results come as many reportedly feel it’s too difficult and takes too long of a process to get their issues resolved. The survey found that it typically takes about three tries and over an hour of time on the phone just to get an answer to a problem.

Others in the survey mentioned other issues, including having to repeat themselves, not being able to reach a live person fast enough, too many navigating buttons, too much time on hold, among other issues, CBS 11 reports.
