Former Texas Trooper Fired From New Uvalde School District Position After Shocking Comments About the Robb School Massacre

A newly hired officer to the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District is out of a job after her comments about the Robb Elementary school shooting were made public.

Crimson Elizondo is a former Texas Department of Public Safety police officer. On May 24th, she was among the first officers to respond to Robb Elementary, where gunman Salvador Ramos was inside murdering 19 school children. Elizondo arrived two minutes after Ramos Yet, she refused to enter because she did not have her tactical gear or long rifle.

While her actions are not unique, as several officers refused to enter the school despite children dying inside, it was her comments that ultimately led to her being fired from her new role. On her body cam footage, she is heard saying, “If my son had been in there, I would not have been outside. I promise you that.”

Elizondo, along with multiple officers, remain under investigation for their lack of action to save the children. She resigned as a Texas state trooper on August 29th. The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District willingly hired her in recent weeks.

Internal documents reveal that the Uvalde school district knew via a background check that Elizondo was under internal investigation following the mass shooting. Yet, the school district still extended an offer to her.

“They knowingly hired her,” said parent Brett Cross, whose 10-year-old son Uziyah Garcia was murdered in the mass shooting.

Following the outrage, the district terminated Elizondo this week. They claim the revelation regarding her comments is what led to their decision.

“Ms. Elizondo’s statement in the audio is not consistent with the District’s expectations. Effective today (October 6th), Crimson Elizondo has been terminated from her position with the Uvalde CISD,” their statement read.

Elizondo has not commented publicly on her firing.
