As war wreaks havoc on the world and inflation is bearing down on working Americans, people are still discussing the viral Will Smith Oscar slap.
This time the “That ’70s Show” actress lent her two cents to how it felt watching people give the legendary actor a standing ovation as he took home the Best Actor Oscar for his role in “King Richard.” According to Kunis, she refused to stand up as Smith tearfully accepted his award. However, she apparently was blown away at the number of people who did. During a recent sit-down with Magazine C, she expressed her disgust with the ordeal.
“The idea of leading by example only makes sense when you actually have someone to lead,” Kunis explained before adding that her decision to stay seated was a “no-brainer.” She says that she was shocked by Oscar guests praising Smith despite him having assaulted comedian Chris Rock for the world to see moments before receiving his trophy.
“I thought, wow, what a time we’re living in that rather than do what’s right, people focus on doing what looks good. It’s insane to me,” Kunis continued.
Social media did not rally around Kunis as she probably anticipated. Instead, Twitter users proceeded to drag the actress, demanding that she focus on the hygiene of her children instead of Smith. If you recall, Kunis revealed that she and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, don’t bathe their kids until they “see dirt on them.”
Smith has not responded to Kunis’s comments and likely won’t as he plans his return to Hollywood with his forthcoming film, “Emancipation.”
