After a two-month stint in rehab, Wendy Williams is out of treatment and feeling fabulous.
In September, Williams’ reps confirmed that she’d checked into rehab the month before to help her overcome alcoholism. While disturbing, the move was no shocker to those who have been following her decline in recent years. The 58-year-old had been photographed several times appearing dazed while purchasing liquor. One source told Page Six that Williams had begun drinking “straight-up vodka.”
Nevertheless, Williams appears ready to leave the past behind and regain her health and sense of independence. Shawn Zanotti, the television star’s longtime representative, issued a statement following her release from the facility. According to her, Williams is healing all while looking forward to the next phase in her career. In a separate statement, the Wendy Williams Show host thanked fans for their tireless support and assured them that things were looking bright for her.
“Thank you to my fans for your love, support, and many prayers. I am back and better than ever,” the “How You Doin'” gossip girl wrote.
However, reassurance will not keep fans from worrying about Williams. Over the years, rumors of dementia and drug abuse, coupled with her Graves’ disease diagnosis, have left admirers on edge. It has been widely reported that Williams’ alleged downward spiral is the result of her long-running television show ending.
Whatever the reason for her problems, it appears that Williams is in great spirits, which is all we can hope for.
