Rapper and businessman 50 Cent is opening up about his relationship with his son Marquise Jackson.
During an appearance on the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” the 47-year-old business mogul detailed his latest industry moves, ending his relationship with Starz and his recent drama with his son, Marquise. When Charlamagne tha God mentioned how people are wondering if Fif and Marquise can ever reconcile their relationship, adding that Marquise wants to sit down with 50.
“No, he doesn’t. See, Charlamgane, you would call me. You don’t call TMZ to say you want to sit down,” said 50 Cent referring to Marquise’s interview with TMZ. “He’s just wants some attention. That’s okay. He can have as much of that as he wants.”
He continued: “He’s been trained to believe what— what you see him say in that interview. What he was saying, he’s been trained to believe that for a long time. When I said that he’s entitled, really it’s his mom’s entitlement. I told [Marquise] that I was giving her a half a million dollars a year. They go to the paperwork, it says a half a million dollars a year. At that point she still was expecting more. That’s why I took her to child support. You usually don’t sign up for child support. I took myself to child support; because she wasn’t understanding that I’m already giving her more than [she’s] supposed to get.”
Fif went on to say that at a certain point, he emphasized the importance of Marquise’s mother getting a job because, eventually, Marquise will turn 18, and the child support payments will come to an end.
Marquise, 25, sat in for an interview with TMZ after speaking out via social media about wanting to meet with his father, even if it meant paying for it.
I’m definitely willing to sit down with him to hear his perspective and gain a little bit of understanding. We’re both men at the end of the day,” said Marquise. “It’s never been about the money for me. It’s more so the relationship for me, personally.”
