Cardi B Gets Into A Heated Argument With The Lawyer Representing A Man Who’s Suing Her Over Her 2016 Mixtape Artwork

Cardi B exchanged heated words with the lawyer representing the man suing her over her mixtape cover art.

On Wednesday, the tension between Cardi and A. Barry Cappello got pretty serious to the point where the judge threatened a mistrial. If you’re not aware, Cappello’s client, Kevin Brophy, is suing Cardi for misusing his artwork on the cover of her 2016 mixtape ‘Gangster B*tch Music, Vol.1.’

The judge dismissed the jurors twice in attempt to calm both parties down. The final time, the judge told Cappello he had “totally crossed the line” and threatened to rule a mistrial.

The $5 million lawsuit stems from Kevin claiming his back tattoos were photoshopped onto the back of a man featured to the mixtape cover. Kevin says the situation “humiliated” him and has caused him “hurt and shame.”

Nevertheless, Cardi has denied the claims, but Kevin has been “harassing” her to get a hefty settlement.

“He hasn’t gotten fired from his job,” Cardi says. “He hasn’t gotten a divorce. How has he suffered? He’s still in a surf shop at his job. Please tell me how he’s suffered.”

The ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper grew angrier after Cappello suggested the artwork helped advance her career.

“[I have been] working my ass off [for] two kids,” she snapped. Cardi then adds “really insulting to me as a woman that a man is claiming responsibility.”

The judge later allowed both sides to resume with questioning but set limitations in place.

“We’re at a point where it’s just not productive,” he said. “We’re arguing with one another. It’s unprofessional and our brand [of the U.S. District Court] is being diluted.”

Cardi tweeted Friday evening that she won the case.  “I just won this lawsuit …Im soo emotional right now 🥲…I wanna kiss Gods feet right now …..IM BEYOND GRATEFUL!!!!”
