Consequences continue to roll in for Kanye West after receiving intense backlash over his anti-Semitic comments. First, Balenciaga cut ties with the business mogul, and now TMZ reports that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour does not intend to work with Ye again.
A spokesperson for the publication told Page Six that Ye’s “White Lives Matter” shirts and his anti-Semitic comments are too much for Wintour.
Ye and Wintour have been friends for over a decade, personally and professionally. The two began their friendship in 2009 when Ye was invited to the Met Gala. But that all seems to be coming to an end as the Vogue boss has reportedly told everyone at the mag they would no longer be working with him.
“Anna has had enough,” the source told Page Six. “She has made it very clear inside Vogue that Kanye is no longer part of the inner circle.”
This means that Ye would no longer receive features on the mag’s cover, Fashion Week coverage, or invites to the Met Gala.
Things were fine between the two as recently as last month. Wintour was spotted wearing Ye’s new sunglasses line for press images to promote the glasses. She also tried to foster reconciliation between the rapper and Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. The two got into it on social media after Ye mocked Karefa-Johnson’s fashion choices. His comments came after the editor was critical of his “White Lives Matter” shirts.
