Actress Jenifer Lewis has a message for Kanye West: “Shut your f*cking mouth.”
The Black-ish star recently sat down with The Pascal Show, and when asked about her thoughts on Ye, she did not hold back.
“I’m sick of Kanye. I was sick of him before he did all of this mess,” Lewis said. “I don’t care what he’s dealing with; shut your f*king mouth. You go sit down somewhere, all those kids who look up to his *ss.”
Lewis advises the rapper and business mogul to go get help.
“My name is Jennifer Lewis,” she says, looking into the camera, “I’m famous too, not as famous as you, but that does not excuse you from doing what you should be doing. Go get help, baby. Your children are looking at you. You hush now.”
The actress admits experiencing pain similar to what West is going through and once again advises him to get help. Towards the end of the video, she becomes visibly upset.
“I know what pain you’re going through. I went through it,” Lewis admits. “Do it for your children, do it for the next generation. They gave you everything. They listen to your music just because you consider yourself a genius, and a lot of people do. Van Gough was a genius, and they cut his f*king hair off. You hush now and go get some help.”
West has faced severe backlash for wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt and for antisemitic comments he’s made on social media and during several interviews. He was subsequently suspended from Instagram and Twitter, where he made similar comments.
In the wake of the backlash, multiple brands have vowed not to work with the rapper. Adidas, Balenciaga, Gap, JPMorgan Chase, CAA, and more have all cut ties with Ye. He briefly returned to Instagram, where he announced that he lost $2 billion in a day.
