That's Baller: Louis Vuitton Opening its First Hotel in Paris

Louis Vuitton is transforming its Paris headquarters into a luxury hotel.

The massive 400,000 square foot complex is undergoing several major renovations beginning this week, with the first-ever Louis Vuitton hotel high on the priority list. In a recent interview conducted by WWD, Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Michael Burke said the space “has all the hallmarks of an ideal lodging venue.”

Not many details of the LV hotel have been made public, but the fashion house recently opened its Cheval Blanc hotel last September. What will set the structures apart is that the Louis Vuitton lodging will be on the complex, while the Cheval Burke is situated nearby. However, Burke maintains that neither of these lavish hotels will interfere with one another.

“It would be its own identity, and own segment and own service, a completely different experience,” Burke shared.

In addition to the hotel, the compound has opened a temporary pop-up known as “LV Dream.” Taking up 20,000 square feet and nine rooms, this exhibit showcases previous artist partnerships, a chocolate shop, and a gift shop. Visits must be scheduled in advance on the Vuitton website and are free during the display’s year-long set-up. There is no need to make a reservation in order to visit the café or gift shop. Once LV Dream is removed, the world’s largest Louis Vuitton store will likely take its place.

The Cheval Blanc currently is priced at around USD 1,900 per night, so one can only imagine that the forthcoming LV hotel will be in a similar ballpark, if not pricier.
