Despite Kyrie Irving facing significant backlash and a Brooklyn Nets suspension for promoting an antisemitic film on Amazon, the platform still has decided to sell it.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who is Jewish, was interviewed at the New York Times‘ DealBook Summit. When asked about selling the film, he responded, “We have to allow access to those viewpoints, even if they are objectionable.” His reasoning was due to the fact that Amazon sells products to people with differing opinions.

The documentary Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America alleges that Jews did not die in the Holocaust and that they controlled the media. The film became a best-seller after Irving promoted it on social media. On top of a temporary suspension, Nike dropped the point guard, and he had to pay a $500,000 fine.

Since the critique of the film and fans’ outrage, many celebrities, including Mila Kunis, signed an open letter to send to Amazon and Barnes and Noble, calling for the documentary to be taken down immediately and cease all sales of the book.

However, with the announcement of Jassy’s decision, it remains unclear if the solution or lack thereof will suffice.
