Amid a massive tax debt and his newly instated child support payments, Kanye West will no longer be purchasing the Parler app.

West and the app’s parent company, Parlement Technologies, originally entered into a deal in October for him to acquire the platform. They had plans to complete the acquisition in the fourth quarter of 2022. However, the company announced Thursday that both parties halted the agreement.

“This decision was made in the interest of both parties in mid-November. Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community,” the company stated.

While no reason was listed, the move comes amid multiple corporations pulling out of their partnerships with Ye. Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap are just a few that no longer wish to work with the Yeezy founder following his frequent anti-Semitic remarks. Parler is a right-wing app that claims to be an alternative to other social media sites that often censor white supremacy-content. West joined the app after his Twitter was briefly suspended for threatening violence toward Jews.

Though many major corporations are turning their backs on the 45-year-old, the fact that Parler, which has thrived on similar hate and racist ideology, decided to step away from the rapper speaks volumes to the current state of Ye’s business dealings.

Ye has not publicly commented on the Parler deal unraveling, though it’s likely he has his hands full as he continues to push his 2024 presidential campaign.
