Takeoff’s Accused Killer Requests Bond Be Dropped From $2 Million to $100K

Grand Jury Indicts Patrick Clark in Takeoff's Shooting Death

Patrick Clark

The man accused of killing Migos star Takeoff is requesting a significant bond reduction.

Just days after a judge granted him additional funds for a private investigator to help prove his innocence, Patrick Xavier Clark is now asking that his bond be reduced from $2 million to $100,000. Clark’s legal team believes this amount is much more reasonable for the Houston DJ and club promoter. He is accused of shooting Takeoff multiple times following a November 1st incident outside of a bowling alley.

Investigators say that in the days following the murder, Clark was preparing to flee the country. However, the 33-year-old promises to stay with his parents if he is released. His attorneys have also said that Clark would abide by a curfew, any no-contact orders in place, and wear an ankle monitor to track his whereabouts.

Police spent weeks piecing together evidence to pinpoint Clark as the killer. Many speculated about who the shooter was in the early days following the slaying that shook the hip-hop community. Cell phone footage, first-hand accounts, and rumors fueled theories about who may have been responsible. Even after Clark was arrested and charged with being the triggerman, many fans are still skeptical about his involvement in the crime. Several people close to Clark have even spoken out in his defense.

As of now, no decision has been made regarding his bond, though his prior attempts to elude law enforcement may not help his bond reduction request.
