“Ellen” Show’s DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss Passes Away At 40

DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, best known for his role as DJ and co-host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has died by apparent suicide.

The incident was reported on Tuesday after his wife, Allison Holker, reported Boss’ usual behavior. According to TMZ, Holker said Boss had left home without his car, which was unlike him, so she ran over to the police station to report it. Shortly after, police received another report, this time for a shooting at an L.A. hotel.

Upon arrival, police found the famed DJ with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, the publication reports. He was 40 years old.

“It is with the heaviest hearts that i have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” Holker said in a statement to PEOPLE. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

Just four days ago, Boss celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary with Holker. The two began dating back in 2010, following Boss’ appearance on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. Three years later, the two tied the knot in Paso Robles, California. In 2014, Boss landed his gig on the “Ellen” show and had been named a Co-Executive Producer by 2020. Throughout his career, he’s been featured in a slew of films and even hosted a show for Disney+ with his wife.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children,” she continued. “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Boss is survived by Holker and their three kids. Our condolences to his family and friends.
