Despite Gunna having legal issues, he still found a way to give back to his Atlanta community.
On Sunday, the rapper will be partnering up with the hunger relief company Goodr to supply 1,000 families with $100 gift cards to Walmart. The event will be taking place at the Walmart in College Park, Atlanta, as part of Gunna’s fifth-annual giveaway.
“Much respect to Gunna who, no matter what, still finds a way to contribute to the community that raised him,” Jasmine Crowe-Houston, Goodr Founder and CEO, said. “We know that people will struggle unlike any other year this holiday season and it is our honor to maintain Gunna’s legacy of giving back.”

Gunna and Goodr have previously collaborated in the past on a slew of community events. The two have hosted free pop-up grocery markets, back-to-school donation drives, coat giveaways, and even gifted the students of Ronald E. McNair Middle School with a free shopping experience.
In addition, Gunna’s Drip Closet & Goodr Grocery Store provides Title 1 students with access to free food, clothing and hygiene items for the school year.
Gunna’s giveaway will take place just days after his release from prison. The rapper was released after agreeing to a plea deal that credited him with time served. However, according to WSB-TV, Gunna pled guilty to racketeering conspiracy charges.
As a result, Gunna received five years with a credit of one year served, seeing as though he’s been incarcerated since May following the YSL indictment. Gunna’s other four years will be “suspended” as he completes it in the form of 500 community service hours.
