Todd and Julie Chrisley have been ordered to report to the big house in January to begin their lengthy prison sentence.
The reality television couple was sentenced last month for tax evasion and defrauding several banks out of over $30 million in fraudulent loans. Todd received 12 years in federal prison, while Julie was sentenced to seven years.
The “Chrisley Knows Best” stars, who flaunted their wealth on the popular USA series and its spinoffs, have been granted a few weeks to get their affairs in order. One of the most pressing issues is the custody of their 16-year-old son Grayson, and 10-year-old granddaughter Chloe, who has lived with them since she was a baby. Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s oldest daughter, has stepped in to take care of both minors in her parent’s absence.
Todd is scheduled to turn himself in on January 17th to begin his new life inside the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, a minimum-security facility. Julie will face her punishment on the same day, about two hours away from her husband, at the minimum security Federal Correctional Institution Marianna.
One day after the sentencing, the Chrisleys shared that they were already preparing to fight the verdict, blaming the outcome on “repeated errors.”
“Based on these issues, we are optimistic about the road ahead,” stated their attorney Alex Jones.
After leaving federal custody, both Todd and Julie must then serve three years of supervised release after prison and pay restitution that will be determined upon release.
