A Las Vegas Raiders fan got a little too carried away with celebrating the team’s win against the New England Patriots.
A video has recently gone viral, showing a Raiders fan heckling a Patriots fan. The video shows the woman intimidating the guy, who was seated a few seats down, telling him that the stadium was hers.
Nevertheless, the man maintained his composure and didn’t lash out at the woman in return.
After the video had gone viral on Twitter, the guy commented on the tweet, revealing his name and briefly explaining the incident.
Someone find me this man. I owe him a beer. Entire game this lady was chirping at him for CHEERING for the Patriots in “her” stadium. Absolute shit ending for NE & she’s up in his face. He stayed calm after seeing the worst loss ever. I know I wouldn’t. He deserves some love. pic.twitter.com/gaKuSv3YqO

“I’d like to thank everyone for all the kind words, he tweeted. “I’m the Patriots fan in the video, my name is Jerry Edmond and that was my first ever NFL game. I didn’t want to ruin my experience by retaliating towards that women so I kept my cool.”

During an interview with Newsweek, Edmond shares that the game was his first live NFL experience.
“My first live experience was amazing in regards to the game,” he said. “I loved how the stadium looked and felt once you were inside with everyone else. The stadium really was beautiful.”
Edmond also explained why he chose not to react to the woman taunting him.
“One thing I’ve learned is as a Black man in America dealing with a situation like that, any reactive response would result in a lose-lose situation for me. I didn’t want to ruin my experience during my first NFL game doing something I would regret afterward. Neither did I want to ruin anyone else’s day by creating a scene that wasn’t needed. So I just did my best to keep my cool,” Edmond explained.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft caught wind of the incident and invited Edmond to the game this Saturday at Gillette Stadium.
