Russell Wilson Gets Emotional While Speaking On His Teammates During A Postgame Press Conference [Video]

Russell Wilson gets emotional while expressing his appreciation for his Denver Bronco teammates.

The NFL quarterback has had a tumultuous week. Just to name a few inconvenient moments, Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired and Wilson faced criticism from notable figures including Broncos Hall-of-Famer, Shannon Sharpe.

On Friday, Sharpe called Wilson out for putting himself “in front of the team.” He even claimed Wilson’s teammates have been “seething” over it.

Nevertheless, Wilson’s teammates came to his defense and rebutted the many negative comments about the quarterback.

“I ain’t gonna keep looking at these false statements about my boii russ man. As a teammate who sees the elite work ethic this man has is incomparable,” Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy tweeted. “He got an office because he’s committed his life to this game. I never had a teammate who motivate me more then russ.”

During a recent postgame press conference, Wilson explained how thankful he is for his teammates.

“It meant the world to me because I give my all every day,” Wilson said emotionally. “I don’t know anything less. I’m grateful for these guys because they work their butts off and for them to have my back means the world to me. Jerry works at his craft every day and Kendall, KJ, Tim and Courtland,  all of those guys do.”

He continued, “All I want to do is help this team win and us find a way to do it. I know we’re going to overcome all of those obstacles and I’m not going to blink because I know who I am. I know the dedication that I have to this game and how much it means to me.”

Despite the naysayers, Wilson made it clear that he still believes in his team and is working to recover from the recent losses.

“I believe and all I want to do is help this team,” he added. “We’re going to go somewhere, and I’m excited about it. It’s going to be worth it.”
