De La Soul‘s classic music is finally coming to streaming platforms, and hip-hop fans are overjoyed.

Six of the group’s albums released between 1989 and 2001 will be available on streaming platforms on March 3rd. The monumental music placement is a collaborative effort between De La Soul star Maseo and his label AOI, who partnered with Reservoir and the distribution wing of Chrysalis.

On Tuesday, the hip-hop pioneers announced the big news in an Instagram Reel, writing, “The De is finally here! 3.3.2023.”

Fans will get to listen to highly sought-after projects Feet High and Rising, De La Soul Is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate, Stakes Is High, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump, and  AOI: Bionix. In previous years, the group’s former label Tommy Boy refused to place the albums on streaming platforms. Back in 2019, there was a renewed effort to bring their vintage work to DSPs, but De La Soul revealed to do so involved a predatory contract, which they refused to sign. However, the matter was resolved when Reservoir acquired Tommy boy in 2021.

Their last album, Grammy-nominated And the Anonymous Nobody was released in 2016 and is currently available on streamers. The 2004 album titled The Grind Date is also available on streaming platforms. While these bodies of work are appreciated, fans have craved the group’s older music.

In addition to being able to enjoy the masterpieces on Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music, physical reissues will also be available for purchase.
