Celine Dion Fans Gather Outside Rolling Stone’s Office To Protest After She Was Left Off Its List Of 200 Greatest Singers [Video]

Some die-hard Celine Dion fans don’t play about her. 

Fans are outraged that the legendary singer was left off Rolling Stone’s list of 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.

And rightfully so! The Canadian singer was snubbed from making this year’s list, which has caused her fans to bat for her outside the magazine’s offices in New York City.

Variety reported 15 fans gathered Friday after a six-hour trek from Montreal. The group represents The Redheads, a Dion fan club created on Facebook.

The group’s founder, Line Basbous, arranged the protest. “The list is completely illegitimate,” she told the outlet. “We wanted to support her and make sure that Rolling Stone hears the voice of the fans. The list is ridiculous. No Madonna, no Celine. They’re clearly focused on American singers, and we don’t understand.”

Julie Snyder, a TV personality from Montreal, led the demonstration and told TMZ that the group is demanding Dion be recognized and an apology from Rolling Stone.

The whole fiasco got the attention of RS’s editor Steven Pearl to come outside to talk to the protestors. He listened to their issues and informed them of how the list was formed.
