Mariah Carey is looking to gain full custody over her and Nick Cannon‘s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
According to RadarOnline, sources say Mariah now wants full custody due to her ex-husband’s growing family.
Last month, the Wild ‘n Out host announced that he welcomed his 12th child, second with Alyssa Scott, following the death of their son in December 2021.
Cannon’s blended family includes his 1-year-old twins and a daughter with Abby De La Rosa, who was also born last month, three children with Brittany Bell, a daughter with LaNisha Cole, and a son with Bre Tiesi.
“The reality of the situation is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. Nick doesn’t see much of them,” said a source, noting that Nick is a good father and attempts to see the twins as much as possible.
According to the source, “she wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children. And she wants legal standing as the twins’ primary caregiver.”
The insider clarified that Carey wasn’t attempting to take vengeance on Cannon and said she was obligated to act in the children’s best interests.
Mariah’s custody arrangements were made public weeks after additional sources said that Carey had urged Nick to “carve out” more time to spend with their twins.
