On Tuesday, Adult Swim cut ties with Justin Roiland, creator of Rick and Morty.
Roiland is the co-creator of the very popular cartoon show Rick and Morty and voices Hulu’s Solar Opposites. Less than a day after Adult Swim decided to sever ties with the alleged domestic violent producer, Hulu followed suit by distancing itself from the creator.
Roiland is the voice actor of both characters, Rick and Morty, and will be recast.
A rep for Adult Swim told Yahoo Entertainment, “Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland.”
Rick and Morty’s Twitter also posted about the decision.

Hulu announced on Tuesday, “We have ended our association with Justin Roiland.” Roiland also voices Koala Man, which will also be recast.
Roiland was charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and/or deceit by the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
The incident was against an alleged Jane Doe in January 2020, according to the complaint filed in May 2020. Roiland pled guilty in October 2020. However, the case managed to stay out of the public eye until the hearing on January 2.
Roiland’s lawyer released a comment:
“It is hard to overstate how inaccurate the recent media coverage of this situation has been. To be clear, not only is Justin innocent, but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the district attorney’s office has completed its methodical review of the evidence. We look forward to clearing Justin’s name and helping him move forward as swiftly as possible.”
