Tiffany & Co. is turning their attention to sneakers, taking on the classic Air Force 1s in an all-new partnership with Nike.

The luxury jewelry empire has not officially announced its plans, but shoe insider, Sole Retriever, broke the news on Monday. Unlike the glamorous 2005 Tiffany Dunks, which wasn’t an official collab, though most people assumed it was, the Air Force 1s are a much more practical design that Tiffany and Nike are working on together. The first leaked images of the shoe were underwhelming, to say the least. A dusty suede black sneaker with a dull Tiffany blue Nike check with the brand’s name scribed on the tongue did absolutely nothing to build the hype. However, Sole Retriever was able to obtain a much more impressive rendering. In the updated photo, the sneaker appears to be in black leather with a brighter blue swish.

The company has a lot to live up to, considering the Dunks were so sought after in the early 2000s. While they approved of the stunning footwear, Tiffany & Co. weren’t the masterminds behind them. It was actually Nick Tershay of Diamond Hardware. Officially named the Nike Dunk SB Tiffany, only around 4,000 pairs were created, and it became one of the most duplicated Nike releases.

As of now, the sneaker dubbed the “1837” does not have a release date but sometime in spring 2023 is the goal. It is estimated that they will cost at least $400.
