Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed Thursday that his mother was recently involved in a major car accident.
The 50-year-old actor posted a photo on Instagram showing the wrecked vehicle his mom was driving. In the caption, Johnson expressed his gratitude after his mother survived the crash.
“Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night,” he wrote. “She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated.”
The photo showed the damaged vehicle with a deployed airbag and a cracked side mirror. The car’s hood was also partially torn open to the point that some of the mechanical parts were visible.
Johnson continued and added a few words praising his mom’s resilience.
“This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head on collision with a drunk driver and attempted suicide. She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real,” he added.
Despite not giving any information on the accident, the former WWF legend thanked officials for aiding his mother during the incident.
“Thank you LAPD & LAFD for being so caring & focused. Thanks for staying on phone and talking me thru it all.”
He concluded his caption by giving out some advice to his fans and followers regarding their parents.
“I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug ’em hard, cos you never know when you’ll get that 3am call we never want to get,” Johnson wrote.
