Among the many Black talents to take away Grammys this past weekend, one star in particular just reached EGOT status.
Actress Viola Davis finally won her first Grammy for her award-winning audiobook, narration, and storytelling recording for her memoir, Finding Me.
Before her Grammy, Davis won an Oscar for Fences, a Tony for King Hedley II, and an Emmy for How to Get Away With Murder.
Making history, Davis is the third Black woman to reach EGOT Status and the 18th person to receive the honor overall.
“I wrote this book to honor the 6-year-old Viola — to honor her life, her joy, her trauma, her everything,” Davis said. “And it has been such a journey. I just EGOT!”
