King James indeed.
Tuesday night LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 39-year-old record.
James secured his spot in history with a stepback fadeaway jumper near the end of the third quarter at last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The four-time NBA champion and 19-time All-Star finished the game with 38 points and ended the night with 38,390 career points.
The all-time leading scorer record was previously held by Abdul-Jabbar, who ended his career with 38,387 points. Before then, Wilt Chamberlain held the record with 31,419 career points.

“I had a moment when it happened, and I embraced that moment,” James said while addressing the crowd. “Seeing my family and friends, the people that’s been around me since I started this journey to the NBA, definitely very emotional right there.”
The Lakers ended up losing Tuesday’s game 133-130 to OKC however, it was a historic night attended by six-time NBA MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar himself and James’ celebrity friends, including Jay Z and Bad Bunny.
