As the Beyhive continues to protest following Beyoncé’s Grammy snub, Jay-Z agrees that the Academy was wrong yet again.

The hip-hop icon sat down with Tidal after his wife’s record-breaking night. In a rare display of transparency, Hov spoke openly about Bey’s past Album of the Year losses, despite being the most deserving in the category.

“Even with Bey, I felt like they missed the moment. Not just Lemonade,” Hov told Elliott Wilson before referencing the icons 2015 AOTY loss for her critically acclaimed self-titled album. Beck took home the top award that year for his album, “Morning Phase.”

In a similar sentiment felt by the fans, Jay felt that “Renaissance” deserved the Grammy because of its impact. According to the doting husband, the “energy of the world moved” when the dance, queer-inspired project debuted. The Beyhive couldn’t agree more.

“They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint, like, everything?!” he reiterated.

Pop singer Harry Styles beat out Bey, Mary J. Blige, Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Coldplay, Brandi Carlile, Adele, and ABBA for this year’s AOTY, leaving everyone in utter shock. People in the crowd at the ceremony even heckled Styles during his acceptance speech, shouting that Beyoncé should have won.

Despite the snub, Bey still took home the Best Dance/Electronic Recording award for “Break My Soul,” Best Dance/Electronic Music Album award for “Renaissance,” Best Traditional R&B Performance award for “Plastic Off the Sofa,” and Best R&B Song award for “Cuff It,” which just got an official remix thanks to TikTok. Her four wins secured her position as the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.
