Sam Asghari just confirmed that his wife, Britney Spears, is not in the middle of an intervention and is in “full control of her life.”
“My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstance,” Asghari told Access Hollywood.
After the pop star’s family planned an intervention following outbursts and her fans called the police for a health checkup, Britney Spears took to Instagram about her family.
Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately,” he added.
Spears denied she needed an intervention, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died.” She then said she’s doing “the best she can” and that there are some people “who don’t wish me well!!!”
Though Asghari confirmed there wasn’t an intervention, he didn’t deny that there wasn’t an intervention planned.
Spears mostly sparked concern after deleting her Instagram. She was filmed getting upset at a restaurant after people took pictures of her and did not respect her privacy, which led to her deleting the account.
Once the police were called to her home, she told fans in a message, “I love and adore my fans, but this time things went a little too far, and my privacy was invaded.” The police confirmed she was not in danger.
Spears’ mental health has been under a microscope since she was placed under a 13-year conservatorship under her father, who controlled her physically and financially, which created the movement, #FreeBritney. She was released in November 2021.
