Rihanna made her return to the stage Sunday during her highly-anticipated Half Time show during Super Bowl LVII.
The nine-time Grammy Award winner sported an all-red Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Cross Low jumpsuit, fueling pregnancy rumors and sending social media into a frenzy.
The singer kicked off her 13-minute set with “B*tch Better Have My Money” while floating above the crowd at State Farm Stadium courtesy of a suspended platform. Her backup dancers were dressed in all white, which served as a contrast to RiRi’s outfit and the red stage.
The singer performed 12 songs in all, reminding us that she has hits for days. She covered almost two decades of her career with songs like “Umbrella,” “We Found Love,” “Work,” and “Rude Boy.” She capped off her triumphant return with “Diamonds.”
Rihanna has not released an album since releasing Anti back in 2016 and has not performed on stage since 2018. She previously turned down an offer to perform during the Half Time show in 2019, choosing to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. The former quarterback was essentially blackballed from the league after kneeling during the national anthem to protest racism and police brutality.
It was a great Half Time show and a sign that fans might finally get a new album. The singer has purportedly been in the studio working on a new project over the last few years.
Fans may have to wait on that album though since Rihanna’s Reps have confirmed that the songstress is indeed pregnant with baby number two. Congratulations RiRi!!!!!
