NAACP Set To Honor Gabrielle Union And Dwyane Wade At The 2023 NAACP Image Awards

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are set to be honored at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards.

Last week, the NAACP announced that the Wade’s would receive the President’s Award during the organization’s 54th ceremony.

“We’re thrilled to present this award to Gabrielle Union-Wade and Dwyane Wade,” Derrick Johnson, CEO of the NAACP, says. “Who together have consistently utilized their platforms to advance social justice and raise awareness to the inequalities existing in our country.”

Throughout the years, Gabrielle and Dwyane have put in efforts to promote the LGBTQ community. They have also assisted in increasing awareness for racial and social justice.

“Gabrielle Union-Wade and Dwyane Wade are exemplary in their purpose-driven leadership and use of their collective platforms for good,” Scott Mills, President & CEO of BET, said. “They are a testament to what is possible when one commits themselves to advancement in those areas.”

In addition, the Wade’s have raised money through their Wade Family Foundation to help communities with healthcare and end bullying and discrimination in schools.

“We’re proud to recognize the couple’s tireless humanitarian work as they continue to advocate for equality and acceptance for all,” Johnson adds.

Individuals can receive the President’s Award by showing leadership through achievements and public service. In the past, celebrities such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Muhammad Ali have been recipients of the award for the humanitarian work.

The event will take place on February 25th in Los Angeles, California.
