Alec Baldwin pleaded not guilty Thursday to manslaughter charges relating to the shooting on the set of “Rust” in 2021.
It is noted in court documents that Baldwin is out on personal recognizance provided he doesn’t own a gun, abstains from alcohol, and doesn’t speak with any other witnesses of the shooting.
Since he waived his first appearance, he is no longer required to appear in court on Friday. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed is still scheduled to appear.
It was announced last month that Baldwin and Gutierrez Reed were charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the movie’s cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. Both defendants have previously maintained their innocence.
Baldwin was holding a prop gun when Hutchins was hit and killed by a live round of ammunition. Baldwin has insisted he did not pull the trigger.
Joel Souza, the director of the film, also sustained gunshot wounds.
Prosecutors recently downgraded the charges against Baldwin and Gutierrez Reed earlier this week, potentially reducing their prison terms by five years.
