Police have issued a warrant for Travis Scott following an altercation at a Manhattan club earlier this week.
At around 2 am on Wednesday, police say Scott and a sound engineer at Club Nebula in Midtown had a disagreement which later escalated into a physical altercation.
According to police, the 52-year-old victim claimed that the 31-year-old Scott punched him in the face and caused $12,000 in damage to a video screen and an audio speaker.
Sources close to the rapper say that the situation at Club Nebula is a misunderstanding and that Scott and his representatives are working closely with the NYPD to try and resolve the matter.
Scott’s lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, said, “While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”
According to investigators, the victim had no visible signs of injury and declined medical treatment.
Police say the alleged suspect fled in a vehicle.
Ritchie Romero, the managing partner of Club Nebula, said, “This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night,”
Talent agent Dorian Harrington, who arranged for Don Toliver to hold his after-party at Club Nebula, joined Scott on stage for his unexpected DJ set and said, “This is a total misunderstanding, and what I saw on stage doesn’t reflect what I read in the news. The music and the night turned out great, and everyone left peacefully.”
