After several failed attempts to sell “a piece of American history,” George Zimmerman has finally sold the gun he used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin in 2012.
The auctioning site, United Gun Group, unlisted the gun several times after receiving a large number of fake bids. One of those fake bids was from a user by the name of “Racist McShootface,” who placed a bid of $65 million in an attempt to drive the price up so high that no one would buy it.
According to TMZ, the gun received seven bids from verified users, and was eventually sold for $138,000. The identity of the winning bidder is unknown.
