Seth Rogen revealed the cast of his upcoming CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Saturday at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
The actor appeared on the red carpet with Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael), who will provide the voices for the reptile superheroes.
The movie boasts an all-star cast, with Rogen lending his voice to Bebop and John Cena voicing Bebop’s sidekick Rocksteady. Veteran actor Jackie Chan will be mentoring the half-shell heroes as the voice of Master Splinter.
Other notable stars included in the project are Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Ice Cube as Superfly, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, and Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman.
Point Grey Productions’ Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver are producing the flick alongside Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies. The film marks Nickelodeon’s first theatrical CG-animated movie release. Jeff Rowe is directing.
The movie sees the Turtle brothers aiming to win over the hearts of New Yorkers, per the synopsis. They hope the move will help them become accepted by their peers as normal teenagers. With the help of their new friend April O’Neil, they take on a crime syndicate and quickly find they have taken on more than they can handle.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is scheduled to be released on August 4.
