Uber is advancing. The ride-share company recently announced new features intended to make it easier for users to find their ride at the airport.
The company said the features would include step-by-step instructions to guide riders through the airport and make it a smoother transition from the gate to their Uber pick-up location.
CNN reported that the instructions, available at over 30 airports worldwide, come with photos that display what riders will see in the airport as they make their way to their ride.
The new additions are also set up to reduce traffic congestion and idle time for drivers at the curb. All three of New York City’s main airports (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty), Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and Miami International Airport will have the feature available to travelers.
“With travel roaring back, we’ve been innovating on ways to redesign your airport experience from beginning to end so that you’re not just getting to and from the airport, but also getting through it with less stress,” said Jen You, head of product for rides at Uber, in a statement. “Our new series of products and features will help you plan for your upcoming trips and make your airport travel smoother than ever.”
In addition to the instructions, Uber says the app will now include walking time estimates to help users more accurately plan how long it will take to get to baggage claim and their Uber.
And that’s not all. The company said it was expanding its Uber Reserve offerings–a feature that lets users reserve a ride up to 90 days in advance–so that travelers can book flights, hotels, and Uber rides for upcoming trips simultaneously, CNN reported.
