Nude Strawberry Scene in “Swarm” Inspired By Donald Glover’s Real Sex-Fruit Incident Gone Wrong [Video]

As the internet continues to buzz regarding the steamy sex scene in “Swarm,” another awkward part of the film was inspired by Donald Glover’s actual intimate life. 

If you’ve watched the Amazon Prime series, you’ve witnessed the scene where actor Rory Culkin is standing completely nude in a full-frontal shot holding a bowl of strawberries next to his genitals. The NSFW scene depicts the aftermath of him and the character Dre, played by Dominique Fishback, after a one-night stand. While viewers were left stunned, show creators Glover and Janine Nabers were moved by Glover’s real-life fruit bowl proposal.

Nabers told Insider that Glover shared a hook-up story about him standing naked with a bowl of cherries after rolling in the sack with a young woman. However, the real-life young lady wasn’t too impressed by Glover and his attempt at being smooth. 

“She was like, so not into it because it’s so weird to hook up with a guy that you barely know and then wake up with him holding a bowl of cherries,” Nabers explained. 

After hearing the tale, she told her fellow creator, “I’m stealing that,” and the concept was born.  

“Swarm” is filled with jaw-dropping moments throughout. While the strawberries moment was one of many, the sex scene between Chloe Bailey and Damson Idris’s characters, Marissa and Khalid, has sparked think pieces across the internet. Another aspect of the show that has caused outrage is the urban legend that “Swarm” is based on a woman who killed herself after hearing Beyoncé’s 2016 album “Lemonade.” The rumor has since been verified as untrue.
