Atlanta mourns the loss of Claybourne Evans Jr., a well-known community figure and businessman in the entertainment industry. Evans’ family announced his untimely passing Thursday.
“It is with a heavy heart that the Evans family announces the untimely passing of my father, Claybourne Evans Jr. He fought a good fight and transitioned peacefully surrounded by close friends and family on March 24, 2023. He lived an extraordinary life filled with Love, Hard Work, and Laughter. He touched many lives… Continue his legacy,” a post to Evans’s Instagram account reads.
Evans, known by many as Clay or “Grand Hustle,” was the CEO of Rubicon Brand Management, a major talent agency in Atlanta, and was also the Vice President of Grand Hustle Records.
Evans was a respected figure in the city and beyond, including in the entertainment industry. He has represented many stars, including Lil Duval, T.I., Travis Scott, JaySki, Erica Duchess, and DJ MLK.
The news of his passing has shook the Atlanta community.
The cause of death has not been disclosed but Evans’ family promised to announce details of a celebration of his life at a later date.
Since his passing, fans, friends, and family have taken to social media to share their memories and pay tribute to Evans, with many recalling his humor and times that he helped them out.

Lil Duval also paid tribute, posting a #tbt video from 2020 that shows him performing with Clay standing right beside him. “Rubiconatl tbt 2020 helped me realize that you have to appreciate every moment that GOD ALLOW YOU TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO!!!! I will no longer take blessings for granted, boy I wish I could get this moment back 😂😂😂😂 #SMILEBITCH #DONTWORRYBEHAPPY,” the message read.
Family and friends continue to show love to the Atlanta icon, who has left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
