The Transportation Security Administration has classified peanut butter as a “liquid,” so it’s best not to pack it in your luggage.
TSA announced last week that flyers could only bring it in their carry-on if it weighs 3.4 ounces or less.
“You may not be nuts about it, but TSA considers your PB a liquid,” TSA tweeted.
“In carry-on, it needs to be 3.4oz or less. Make sure all your travel-sized liquids fit in one quart-sized bag. #PeanutButter.”
Along with the tweet was a photo of a jar of peanut butter with green text that read, “Peanut butter… a liquid has no definite shape and takes a shape dictated by its container.”
In addition to peanut butter, TSA has listed creamy dips, spreads, hummus, jam, and jelly on their list of prohibited items.
