Ed Sheeran is peddling back and forth to court amid the trial over alleged copyright infringement on his 2014 single "Thinking Out Loud," and the entire ordeal is making him reconsider his entire career choice.

Ed Sheeran revealed during his interview with Rolling Stone that Jay-Z was almost featured on his 2017 hit single Shape of You.

“We were in touch,” Sheeran explained.  “I sent him the song, and he said, ‘I don’t think the song needs a rap verse.’ “

Sheeran added, “He was probably right.  He’s got a very, very good ear.  He usually gets things right.  It was a very natural, respectful pass.”

With 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ‘Shape of You’ won a Grammy for best pop solo performance.
Last April, the singer walked away with a victory in a plagiarism lawsuit accusing him of stealing the song’s melody, which was an ode to his wife, Cherry Seaborn.
According to BBC, a judge ruled that Sheeran “neither deliberately nor subconsciously copied” the 2015 Sami Switch song “Oh Why” while writing his track.
