BMW has tapped high fashion model Naomi Campbell to develop an extravagant version of its XM model as part of its “Dare to Be You” campaign.
According to luxury insider Robb Report, Campbell will offer her own “one-off” high-performance model featuring the same M HYBRID drive as the normal XM. The XM uses the company’s fifth-generation battery technology to provide a V8 M-division TwinPower Turbo engine. With such capabilities in mind, Campbell is using her fashion expertise to bring an extra luxury feel to the already stunning automobile.
In the first images from the collaboration, Campbell poses next to the SUV in several frames.
“I believe I have this something that I call the three D’s: dedication, determination, and drive,” Campbell stated in a video announcing her latest endeavor.
Campbell says she wanted to be a part of the” Dare to Be You” campaign because the slogan describes “the confident attitude that is necessary for progress and positive change.”
BMW’s Senior Vice President of Customer and Brand, Jens Thiemer, praised the internationally renowned supermodel. He believes she identifies strongly with what “Dare to Be You” represents and is looking forward to people seeing the new collab.
The BMW XM is the company’s priciest car to date, with a retail value of $185,995. However, the 3.0 CSL is expected to arrive next month, priced at a staggering $750,000. Campbell’s concept will debut later this year.
