A former employee is suing Kanye West for breach of contract, marking another lawsuit the Yeezy mogul is facing.
TMZ recently reported an ex-Yeezy employee had filed a $275,000 claim of breach of contract against the rapper and producer. The lawsuit states Dora Szilagyi alleged that she was hired as the Director of Product Innovation for the Yeezy label in June 2021.
Szilagyi asserts that West insisted she resign from her position at adidas and commit to working for him full-time. She also claims that she was promised a $275,000 severance payment if she was terminated without reason after September 2021.
According to Szilagyi, she was let go in December 2021, but the guaranteed severance payment was never paid to her.
“Dora says she doesn’t believe Kanye or his company ever intended to follow through on the severance package and only dangled it to lure her from Adidas,” the outlet says.
The complaint is the most recent addition to West’s extensive list of legal problems. In December 2022, he was sued for $110,000 by Katelyn Mooney, a Brooklyn creative director, for allegedly not compensating her for a last-minute photoshoot in September.
Mooney states West’s team approached her and requested that she photograph his SHDZ designer sunglasses to be employed for promotional purposes at New York Fashion Week. The photo session occurred on September 13, 2022, and Mooney sent the finalized digital images the following day. Nevertheless, she asserts that she was never compensated for her work.
