Model and dancer Chloe Goins has filed a new lawsuit that names both Bill Cosby and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, according to her attorney and reporting from the New York Daily News. The claims are allegations and have not been proven in court.
Goins, who was 18 at the time, says Cosby drugged and assaulted her at a 2008 party at the Playboy Mansion. She filed an earlier civil suit against Cosby last October and later dropped it without a public explanation. Cosby has denied accusations made against him by multiple women.
In the new filing, submitted on Monday, Goins alleges Hefner acted as an accomplice. She says that when she began to feel dizzy after taking a drink at the party, Hefner suggested she go lie down in a bedroom at the mansion. The suit also claims the two men agreed to host parties where young adults under 21 were given alcohol, and that Hefner should have known about Cosby’s alleged behavior toward young women.
Goins’ attorney, Spencer Kuvin, told the New York Daily News that his team found additional evidence they believe points to Hefner being complicit. He acknowledged that Hefner is 90 years old and said the team does not take the step lightly. Hefner had not publicly responded to the lawsuit at the time of this report.
This is not the first time Hefner’s name has come up in a Cosby accuser’s story. Another accuser, Judy Huth, says she was assaulted at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, and her attorney, Gloria Allred, has been working to have Hefner give a deposition in that case.
