Chick-fil-A‘s side salad turned out to be popular after the chicken food chain thought it wasn’t.
Last month, Chick-fil-a announced it would be getting rid of an unpopular menu item: the side salad. Instead, the food franchise would keep the new mac & cheese, kale crunch salad, iconic waffle fries, soups, fruit bowls, and yogurt parfaits as sides, but now after receiving an outpouring of love for the side salad, it will stay on the menu.
“At Chick-fil-A, our guests come first. Based on feedback, we have decided not to proceed with removing our Side Salad from the menu,” reads a statement from Chick-fil-A shared with Nexstar on Friday. “We will continue serving the item at participating restaurant locations and hope customers continue to enjoy this menu offering.”
The salad was originally set to leave menus starting April 3 to simplify the menu, but the longtime menu item isn’t going anywhere now due to social media.

Chick-fil-a discontinuing their side salad is an outrage. Chicken salad, carrot-raisin salad, and now the side salad. Craziness…

In addition to precious items on the menu, the popular Watermelon Mint Sunjoy, Watermelon Mint Frosted Lemonade, and Watermelon Mint Iced Tea are returning this summer.
