One woman was killed and ten more injured after a 13-year-old led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle in the California town of Woodland.
A Woodland Police Department officer observed a car “driving erratically” on Saturday evening and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver engaged in a short vehicle pursuit and crashed the car, determined to be stolen from a family member, into two other vehicles at an intersection.
Nearly a dozen people were injured in the fiery crash and taken to hospitals. Three minors, including the teenage driver, were among those brought to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the victim, only noting that she was an adult female.
The 13-year-old did not have any passengers with them in the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
