McDonald’s Big Mac sauce is getting some shine outside of the buns.
This week, the burger chain teased a new sauce heading to restaurants. On Wednesday, they unveiled what that new dipper is, and to fans’ delight, it was the all too familiar Big Mac sauce. For years, this creamy spread has been a fixture on the chain’s most popular sandwich. While customers have always been able to request extra sauce on their sandwiches, they’ve never had it offered in a dipping cup. In 2017, the company gave out 10,000 bottles, marking the first time the condiment was provided outside the chunky burger.

The dipping sauce can be ordered with any menu item, just like the other sauces. Yes, you can absolutely have the sweet and tangy sauce with your fries or even a chocolate chip cookie if that’s your thing. Big Mac sauce is available a la carte, but there is one catch: it can only be ordered through the McDonald’s mobile app. There is no extra charge for the sauce, but customers may not request it at the window. To honor the legacy of the Big Mac, the dip cups are adorned with vintage blue and silver packaging from the 1960s.
Other sauces on the menu include Spicy Buffalo, Creamy Ranch, Sweet and Sour, Honey Mustard, and Barbeque. However, additional limited-edition tastes, such as the Szechuan sauce, have made an appearance at Mickey D’s locations. Now, the Big Mac sauce is joining this capsule collection. Yes, you read that correctly. McDonald’s has no intentions of carrying the sauce year-round. Once it debuts on April 27th, it will only be available for a short time. At least, that is the plan for now unless fans demand otherwise.
