Cardi B is close to seizing the assets of Tasha K, a vlogger who owes her $4 million awarded from a defamation lawsuit.
Court documents obtained by AllHipHop show that on Thursday, April 20, a writ of execution was submitted against Tasha K and Kebe Studios LLC.
Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, was sued by the “Bodak Yellow” rapper in 2019. In 2022, a jury determined that Tasha K was responsible for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Cardi was awarded $4 million from Tasha K. In March, an appeals court confirmed the decision despite the vlogger’s request for a new trial.
“There are two issues here,” the appeals court explained. “One is whether the jury had sufficient evidence to hold appellants—Latasha Kebe and others—liable for defamation (and other privacy torts) against appellee Belcalis Almanzar (better known as ‘Cardi B’). The other is whether the district court erred by excluding evidence. We hold that Kebe hasn’t preserved either issue for appeal.”
After the appeal failed, Tasha K took to social media to issue the rapper an apology.
