Drake Bell‘s wife has reportedly filed for divorce just a week after he was found safe.
According to documents, Janet Von Schmeling filed a petition for dissolution of marriage with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday, citing “irreconcilable differences” after being married for three and a half years. In the same petition, the 28-year-old requested spousal support from Bell and legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old son Wyatt. However, she also mentioned that Bell should be granted visitation rights.
Following the news of the divorce filing, the actor took to Twitter to claim that he had not been personally notified about it. He then proceeded to promote his new song and music video for “Going Away.”
“I found out my wife filed for divorce from TMZ…check out my new song,” he wrote.

The announcement comes just a week after Bell was reported “missing and endangered.” However, a few hours later, the 36-years-old singer-actor was found unharmed. After reappearing, Bell posted a tweet that read, “So I leave my phone in the car for a couple of hours, come back to it, and this happens?”
Bell and Von Schmeling have mostly kept their romantic relationship confidential, and it wasn’t until almost three years after their wedding that they publicly acknowledged their union.
“In response to various rumors that are incorrect, I have been married for almost 3 years,” Bell tweeted in 2021, adding that the couple were “blessed to be the parents of a wonderful son.”
